Swaroop Vitta, MD

Dr. Swaroop Vitta graduated magna cum laude from Birmingham Southern College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Vitta is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

He joined Birmingham Gastroenterology in August 2022.
