Elizabeth Gilbert, DNP, FNP-C
Elizabeth Gilbert, DNP, CRNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a strong clinical background in gastroenterology, endoscopy, and critical care. She began her nursing career after earning an Associate Degree in Nursing from Jefferson State Community College in 2010.
Elizabeth worked as a Registered Nurse at Brookwood Medical Center, where she provided care on the Medical-Surgical Unit, in the Endoscopy Lab, and served as Clinical Coordinator in the Endoscopy Lab. She continued her focus in GI care at the Alabama Digestive and Endoscopy Center, further developing her expertise in endoscopic procedures and digestive health.
In 2018, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University and went on to work as an ICU Nurse at Brookwood Medical Center. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2021, followed by a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in August 2022, both from Jacksonville State University.
Elizabeth is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and joined Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates in December 2021, where she serves as an inpatient nurse practitioner managing complex gastrointestinal cases in the hospital setting.
