Charlai Breeding, PA-C

Charlai Breeding, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with a background in public health and a passion for delivering compassionate, patient-focused care in the field of gastroenterology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2019 and completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Samford University in December 2022.

Charlai is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She joined Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates in July 2024 and works in collaborative practice with Dr. David Steele, providing outpatient digestive health care to patients across the Birmingham area, including Homewood, Hoover, Gardendale, and Vestavia.

Her clinical interests include the evaluation and management of acid reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, abdominal pain, and colon cancer prevention. Charlai takes a holistic, prevention-focused approach to gastrointestinal care, and is committed to helping patients better understand and manage chronic GI conditions with confidence and clarity.
