Piper Latham, PA-C

Piper Latham, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant and Hoover native with a strong commitment to patient-centered gastroenterology care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University and went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), graduating in December 2024.

During her training at UAB, Piper developed a prototype web app designed to help students interpret X-ray findings—an innovation that reflects her curiosity, creativity, and dedication to advancing medical education.

She joined Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates in 2025 and works in collaborative practice with Dr. Swaroop Vitta. Piper’s clinical interests include preventive gastroenterology, liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and colon cancer screening.

Known for her approachable, thorough, and innovative approach to care, Piper is passionate about helping patients in Homewood, Cullman, and the greater Birmingham area better understand their digestive health so they can feel empowered in managing it.
